Pilot pens are the best at any price point

I own several Pilot pens now and I have to say that this Kakuno is my daily writer. I own 2 Kakunos (Fine and Extra Fine) demonstrators and the Fine is my daily writer for my journal. Smooth writing nib and I like that I can see the ink level all the way down. The only drawback to this pen is that it doesn't have a pocket clip option. Other than that, if you need a great performer out of the box at a very reasonable price point, I highly recommend the Pilot Kakuno... especially if you're new to fountain pens. BTW, I've never had a problem with ANY pilot product so far, which is why they've become my favorite trusted brand...

Handy pen to have.

A nice little cheap demonstrator, it works well for me as a work pen (manufacturing shop). XF nib works decent on cheap paper. I only wish it had a pocket clip, but at least it has a roll stop.

Great pen for the money.

Awesome pen :)

I’m in the minority in that I just don’t love the Pilot Metropolitan. I love the nib but I gave mine away to a friend because I found it too heavy and it just didn’t sit well in my hand. But I’m a sucker for a demonstrator, and so I gave this little guy a try. And I LOVE this Kakuno. I get the smooth amazing Pilot nib in the lightweight pen I prefer. I have it in the M nib and it’s perfect. I’m guessing it won’t be long before I add another colour or two into my collection. (And the smiley face nib is just a nice bonus!)

Good Pen

The Kakuno pens get the job done, they are a great standard pen. The clear demonstrator is the only pen that provides extra-fine nibs, which slightly sucks in terms of design variety. So far I believe the extra-fine nib of the kakuno is probably the cheapest option for the smallest nib? I haven't found an alternative for a similar price. Note: all Kakunos cannot be made into eyedroppers due to the design having two holes at the bottom of the body. Overall great pen.
