Lamy Al-Star Fountain Pen - Black Purple

Now that I own a few fountain pens my wife has been writing with some as well. She really likes how my Al-Star Petrol looked and wrote. I showed her all the color options for the Al-Star and she chose this one. She absolutely loves the color and it's a Lamy so it writes great with no flaws or issues.

This was a gift from a friend who is a Lamyaholic. I have since purchased a couple of Safari's, but in my opinion the Al-Star is worth the extra cash. It feels more durable, and permanent ink will not stain it like I find happens with my Safaris. It never gives me any trouble and the finish looks fresh even though it lives in my purse. And the purple black colour looks slick.

My Lamy AL-Star arrived quicker than expected and has joined my collection with pride. Purple isn't generally a favorite colour of mine, but this Black Purple is gorgeous. It's known (to me) excellent Fine nib has never disappointed me. Although it's triangular section is controvertial to some, I feel the three finger grip to be natural, but that's just my opinion. A no-regrets purchase, that I'd recommend without hesitation. This will not be my final Lamy in my collection. Affordability doesn't mean less quality, with Lamy.

This was my first Lamy pen in a colour I love. I am really pleased with how easily it sits in my grip and how light it is.
I've found the Fine nib to be perfect for my writing style.
I really appreciate how easy it is to change out the nibs should I want to try a different size in the future and the easy interchangeability of ink cartridges.
I'll be buying more colours of this style in the future.
