Kaweco Brass Sport Fountain Pen

The classic sport design we know and love, but made with a raw brass finish which will develop a unique-to-you patina over time.

Aptly named their "classic" fountain pen, the Sport has been an icon of the Kaweco brand for more than 80 years.  This brass version is the heaviest finish. This fountain pen has a steel nib and iridium tip for extra smooth writing.

Brass model should not be converted into the eye-dropper method as the ink can react with the metal.

Compatible with Kaweco cartridges (International Standard Short Cartridges). Converter available separately.
Clip available in gold or silver - sold separately.

Quality, Pure & Simple

I like everything about this pen, the weight, the fittings, the finish and the patina that is developing, ... and the way the Medium nib glides on the page.
There is craftsmanship in the precise way it is made. If you are hesitant about it being a shorter style pen, know that when the cap is posted it is full size, and the mass of the brass builds a confidence in your hand as you write.
No regrets here, ... very pleased!

Great feel in the hand

I'm really happy with this pen. It has the weight that I was missing with the sport classic. The F nib started right away and has been nice and smooth. I'm looking forward to the changes in the finish as I use the pen. It does have a "penny" smell when you've been handling it a lot. This could be an issue for some people.

Lovely

I coveted this pen for years, I have always used the Kaweco's as my daily writers but wanted something special. The heft and size of the brass feels perfect, the workmanship is fantastic on these and you can tell a lot of care is taken on the machining. They age really nicely, BUT IF YOU GET INK STAINS ON THE BRASS and want to take them out: Get some 00 steel wool and rub it gently on the surface, this will renew and remove all the ink that seeped into the brass. You can use the same trick if you want to get rid of the patina or bring it back to the "as new" look. The "fine" nibs from Kaweco need some tweaking, but can also be replaced for something else. Almost a 5/5, too bad about the nib but that's a personal preference.

Great pen, not so great nib

Got this lovely pen for Christmas. What a joy to hold it in my hands. It quickly warms to the touch and feels so great to write with it until the nib dries out... As another reviewer indicated regarding the pen she received, my nib is extra dry even after flushing it a few times. I will definitely try to mess with it and if I can't get it to work properly, I will just order another nib. Or two...

Awesome feeling pen

I love the look and feel of this brass pen. I can't stop picking it up just to feel it in my hands. It has a nice weight and feels quite solid. The extra fine nib is not quite as fine as I like compared to the Japanese-style nibs that I generally prefer, but it writes very smoothly and ink flows well.
