My Letter Writing Go To Pad

I ordered this pad when I was exploring different papers. It has proven to be the most enjoyable between my Clairefontaine and Rhodia. I've used it with my Beaumont Edison M nib and my Noodler's Ink Tripletail with Diamine inks. The ink colour REALLY popped on the off-white page which I appreciate for my Shimmertastic. I can easily utilize both the front and back of the page with the M nib, and have minor bleed through/shadowing from the flex nib for the paper price. Line spacing is great as I can use the full line or double up to reduce the letter weight. If you're a fan of washi tape, the top page margin is perfect for putting a strip of washi tape down to dress this paper up into a unique stationary with minimal effort.

Excellent Little Pad

Love the paper in this notepad, my daily pen is a Platinum 3776 with a music nib, which puts a LOT of ink on the page, but this paper copes with it admirably. Minimal bleed, and even a low-cost ink, like Parker's Quink, looks fine on the page.

However, you only really get to know how the pad and your choice of pen and nib will work together, after you've made a purchase. I would love to be able to test my pen on actual sheet samples, when in-store. I realize that has cost implications, but it would be a nice touch if it were at all possible.

Better than Rhodia for me

I ordered this not knowing what to expect, but it's my new favorite paper over Rhodia and Clairefontaine. The colour of the sheet is a warmer white (more a creamy-white than super-bright). Texture is very smooth with a slight laid-striping running vertically through the sheet when held up to the light. Most importantly, this paper is the best I've tried with a flex pen, and to me it seems the lines are ideally spaced for flex writing with a slightly wider rule. The Noodler's Ahab on a Rhodia Dotpad has really heavy show-through/bleedthrough, but this kappan tablet doesn't even care. Only the usual faint shadow, as with non-flex FPs, shows through.

If you are looking for smooth textured paper (smoother than Clairefontaine) that can stand up to more ink, this is the paper to try. It's a pleasure to write on.
