Noodler's Ahab Flex Fountain Pen - Ahab's Pearl

The Ahab is a Noodler's Flex fountain pen. It's the largest of their flex pens and is especially easy to clean as you can fully disassemble the pen. The friction fit feed and nib means you can pull out the feed and nib to easily adjust the flow to meet your writing styles or specific ink qualities, as well as allowing you to clean thoroughly. The pen comes with a push-piston fill mechanism, but it can also be converted into an eyedropper, allowing you a huge amount of ink (6mL!).

This pen is a great way to get into the world of flex pens - writes like a fine nib with minimal pressure, but with a little more pressure, you can write calligraphy, sketch or add character to your letters.

We recommend that you flush the pen out before your first fill to remove any factory machine residue. Use a pen flush or just water and dish soap.

Does not take cartridges. Uses bottled ink (no converter required).

This pen may require some tinkering to adjust flow for optimal writing. For a guide on how to adjust your pen to your ideal ink flow and flexibility, check out the blog.

5 of 5 Love this Pen September 3, 2017
Reviewer: Anne MacL from Toronto, ON, Canada
I bought this pen on an impulse. I had been curious about flex nibs for a while so I tried out one in the shop. (Being a left handed underwriter, I was worried that they might not work for me.) It turns out that it works very well for me. I thought the Ahab might be heavy (because of the thickness of the barrel but it is quite light and comfortable to hold. I love that it writes fairly fine but with a little pressure on the downward stroke, I can get line variation. My pen writes smoothly and I love the pearlized finish.
