5 of 5 Drying blood September 6, 2017
Reviewer: Hope from London, Ontario
When I write with this ink I can't help but think that it's looks like drying blood - not completely dry, but not freshly split.  Morbid comparison aside, this is a really nice ink.  I usually write with fine and extra write nibs, and I still get a little shading with this ink if I'm using good quality paper.   Being a university student I have to write on low quality paper and the ink preforms well with very slight echo and no bleed through, as long as I use finer nibs.

4 of 5 Beautiful colour, very slow dry time April 15, 2017
Reviewer: Margaret McDonald from Toronto, ON Canada
I absolutely love this colour and shading of this ink. It's a little more on the brown side than I expected but it's stunning on ivory paper. Flows and lubricates extremely well, the only thing to consider is it has a very long dry time. I've got my TWSBI ECO 1.1 stub (a very wet pen) inked up with this and it takes FOREVER to dry. Not a journaling or note-taking ink, but lovely for letter writing.

5 of 5 Beautiful February 9, 2017

(Accidentally posted this under Black Swan in Australian Roses.)

Dark red ink with black undertones. Looks especially good on ivory paper. Will bleed if the paper is absorbent. Drydown is a little slow; be careful with shirtsleeves. A gorgeous ink with a delightful and evocative name.

4 of 5 Nice Medium Brown March 30, 2016
Reviewer: Patrick Perron from Longueuil, QC Canada
Would you believe that I bought this ink by mistake!  I meant to purchase the Australian Roses ...

But you know what ... it was one of the best mistakes that I've made so far!

This is a great ink!  I would qualify it as a medium brown with red undertones.

It looks good with just about any pen.  The colour is consistent from pen to pen.  It does shade a little bit in my wetter pens.

5 of 5 Gorgeous dark ink January 7, 2016
Reviewer: Tiffany from QC Canada
The Black Swan in English Roses one is more of a brown with a dark red (maroon like) undertone. It'll naturally come out more brown almost black but if you use it with a flex pen such as a Nib Creaper (which I did) it'll show its undertones.

Wet ink, will have to dry longer. Fun to write with everyday, more subtle if you're not into bright colours but are bored of black or blues.
